Our Story

Why We Started LGO Capital

LGO Capital was founded on a simple belief: Atlantic Canada is one of the most undervalued real estate markets in the country. We saw a region with strong fundamentals, growing demand, and a shortage of institutional-quality management — and we decided to do something about it.

What started as a small portfolio of residential properties has grown into a diversified platform spanning residential, commercial, and industrial assets across Atlantic Canada.

We remain privately held because it lets us act with discipline and a long time horizon — making decisions that are right for our tenants, our investors, and the communities we operate in.

Frank Laframboise

Co-Founder

Frank Laframboise

A Nova Scotia–based entrepreneur, Frank Laframboise brings over 20 years of deep real estate experience, with a track record that includes managing more than $2M in renovations and owning a portfolio of up to 50 doors. He has demonstrated strong capabilities across acquisitions, project execution, and asset management, consistently delivering results through disciplined analysis and hands-on oversight.

Frank is recognized as a master underwriter with a highly creative approach to deal construction, enabling him to identify overlooked opportunities, mitigate risk, and unlock value through strategic, non-traditional financing and partnership structures.

Matt MacKenzie

Co-Founder

Matt MacKenzie

A Nova Scotia–based entrepreneur, Matt MacKenzie is the founder of Tidal Entertainment & Sports, a business he has successfully scaled through strong execution, strategic marketing, and community engagement. Through this experience, he has developed proven capabilities in operations, revenue generation, and building scalable systems — skills that translate directly into real estate investing.

Matthew brings a strategic advantage to real estate through his expertise in digital marketing and content production, enabling him to drive visibility, demand, and premium positioning for assets. He specializes in maximizing performance across short-term rentals, tenant acquisition, and resale by leveraging targeted promotion and high-impact media.

With a disciplined, growth-focused approach, Matthew is experienced in identifying opportunities, executing efficiently, and enhancing asset value, delivering strong results for partners and stakeholders.

Jean-Martin Lemaire

Director of Acquisitions

Jean-Martin Lemaire

A Nova Scotia–based professional, Jean-Martin Lemaire brings a strong track record in sales, business operations, and high-value contract management. He has successfully owned and operated his own business through acquisition to eventual sale, demonstrating an ability to build, scale, and exit ventures effectively.

Jean-Martin has extensive experience in the construction and materials sector, including his time with Maritime Fence and his current role at Nut Wood, where he manages major contracts ranging from tens of thousands to over $2M in value. His expertise in relationship management, negotiation, and deal execution allows him to consistently deliver results across complex transactions.

Complementing his professional achievements, Jean-Martin is also a top-5 ranked Canadian tennis player in the 45+ category, reflecting a high level of discipline, competitiveness, and performance under pressure — qualities he brings directly into his business and investment activities.
